Inoculation with Plant Growth-Promoting Bacteria Improves the Sustainability of Tropical Pastures with Megathyrsus maximus

چکیده
Brazil is the second-largest producer and first exporter of beef, with herds mainly raised in extensive pastures, where Megathyrsus maximus occupies over 30 Mha. About 70% pastures are under degradation, using plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) may contribute to reversing this scenario. We investigated effects PGPB on growth six cultivars M. maximus—Tanzania-1, Massai, BRS Zuri, Mombaça, Tamani, Quênia—under greenhouse conditions. Plants were inoculated, or not, elite strains Azospirillum brasilense CNPSo 2083 + 2084, Bacillus subtilis 2657, Pseudomonas fluorescens 2719, Rhizobium tropici 103. At 35 days after emergence, plants evaluated for ten root traits, shoot dry weight, levels macro micronutrients accumulated shoots. Several traits increased due inoculation all genotypes, impacting nutrient uptake. Despite differences effectiveness, genotypes benefited from some degree, but Mombaça Zuri more responsive. Scanning electron microscopy indicated that bacterial species differed their capacity colonize seeds rootlets. The results show represent an important strategy sustainability pastures.

Response of legumes to co-inoculation with nodule bacteria and plant growth promoting rhizobacteria
Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) of the genus Pseudomonas have been reported to increase the yield of nonleguminous plants. Inoculation with Pseudomonas has been found by some authors to improve nodulation of legumes. This work examined the response of various legumes to a combined inoculation with Pseudomonas and nodule bacteria in pot experiments under field conditions in gray fore...
متن کاملDiversity of plant growth-promoting bacteria associated with sugarcane.
The sugarcane (Saccharum spp) presents economic importance, mainly for tropical regions, being an important Brazilian commodity. However, this crop is strongly dependent on fertilizers, mainly nitrogen (N). This study assessed the plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) associated with sugarcane that could be used as a potential inoculant to the crop. We evaluated the genetic diversity of PGPB i...
متن کاملPlant Growth-Promoting Bacteria: Mechanisms and Applications
The worldwide increases in both environmental damage and human population pressure have the unfortunate consequence that global food production may soon become insufficient to feed all of the world's people. It is therefore essential that agricultural productivity be significantly increased within the next few decades. To this end, agricultural practice is moving toward a more sustainable and e...
متن کاملdeterminant of the hankel matrix with binomial entries
abstract in this thesis at first we comput the determinant of hankel matrix with enteries a_k (x)=?_(m=0)^k??((2k+2-m)¦(k-m)) x^m ? by using a new operator, ? and by writing and solving differential equation of order two at points x=2 and x=-2 . also we show that this determinant under k-binomial transformation is invariant.

Rhizosphere engineering with beneficial plant growth promoting bacteria offers great promise for sustainable crop yield. Potato is an important food commodity that needs large inputs of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers. To overcome high fertilizer demand (especially nitrogen), five bacteria, i.e., Azospirillum sp. TN10, Agrobacterium sp. TN14, Pseudomonas sp. TN36, Enterobacter sp. TN38 and ...
